Stand up! Be counted, O men of the race.
The voice of wisdom calleth thee.Arise! Be great! The world we face,
The mantle of courage about thee.

We're men when we answer duty's call,
Though far from field of battle.
We're men when we lend a helping hand
   And spurn the slavish chattel.

We're men when we raise indignant voice
   Against a selfish nature--
We're men when we strive for a higher cause,
   Advancing civilization.
